Inthtspaper, wepropose a newalgorithm which showsa burzed landmine clearly tnan underground zmagecaptured byaground penetrattng radar (GPR). ByustngGPR,wecould extract theburzed object stgnals fromarawunderground dataofGPR. Inadditzon, wecould create ahighresolutzon underground zmagewhich focuses onburzed objects. The extractzon ofburzed object stgnals fromrawGPR dataisachzeved byustngtwomethods which area feature extractzon processing methodofunderground zmageandagroundadaptive mantpulatzon method whichmanipulates thesensorheadofGPR along aground surface. Moreover, wepropose novel synthetic aperture radar processtng, which could beapplied toanunevenground surface ofa minefield, fordetecttng thelandmine clearly. Thehigh resolutzonunderground Zmageisobtatned bytheproposed synthetic aperture radar processtng which isreferred toasground adaptive synthetic aperture radaralgorithm. We developed alandmine detection robot, in which theproposed methods wereZmplemented. To evaluate theproposed methods, experiments concerninglandmine detectzon aredoneandexperimental results tllustrate thevaltdity ofthesystem.
