Regional demographic characteristics in Russia in the 1940s

An analysis of population trends in Russia during the 1940s is presented. The author examines differences in the rates of population growth and in the spatial distribution of the population by region area and autonomous republic. Differences between rural and urban areas are also noted. (ANNOTATION)
