Legislación sanitaria en México (1797-1810)

At the end of the colonial period in Mexico (1797-1810) the Spanish government carried several actions designed to improve the health and welfare of the community. Among these were various decrees directed at improving the living conditions of the population. The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the sanitary legislation proposed by the Spanish Monarchy and local authorities. The most important characteristics of these decrees, the types of the problems that they wanted to attack and the political interest involved in this historical moment will be analyzed in this paper
