PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type heat source device which can reduce power consumption of a pump.SOLUTION: When detection temperature Tw of a water temperature sensor while a pump is operating is below a set temperature Tws, operation of a compressor is turned on and, when it is equal to or higher than the set temperature Tws, the operation of the compressor is turned off. A temperature change amount (=Tw2-Tws) necessary for the detection temperature Tw2 of the water temperature sensor at the time when a prescribed time tb passes after the operation of the compressor is turned off to reach the set temperature Tws is divided by a temperature change amount [=(Tw1-Tw2)/tb] per unit time at the certain time tb, so that a required time tx1{=(Tw2-Tws)/[(Tw1-Tw2)/tb]} after the operation of the compressor is turned off before it is turned on next is estimated.
