Chapter 3 – Thermochemistry of Organosilicon Compounds

Abstract The thermochemistry of organosilicon compounds is reviewed, focussing mainly on recent (post-1998) results. Although the emphasis is on experimentally measured enthalpies of formation, theoretically calculated values are also considered. Data on bond dissociation enthalpies and free radicals are an important part of this review, as are results for silylenes and other reactive intermediate species. Where possible, we have tried to recommend best values.
