Hibernate and spring - An analysis of maintainability against performance

Web application frameworks and ORM tools allow to reduce the time and effort needed to develop quality applications. There are comparative studies about this tools but since they are numerous and heterogeneous, choosing the best suited is not easy. However, the existing studies doesn’t considered a domain with complex relationships that allow us to measure in a more precise way their advantages and disadvantages. To contribute in the solution we compared the response times of different queries over tables with different amount of registers. A comparison based in this aspect is important because data manipulation in a database is a process that can lead to bottle necks.
