This chapter reflects on previous studies on the intercultural approach within foreign language education. It then considers what political engagement can mean within this approach in the teaching of French in a non-francophone environment such as Australia, and at tertiary level and based on the analysis of teacher-researchers' responses during a round table in French studies in Melbourne/Australia.
