Evaluation of spatial channel allocation algorithms for space division multiple access

In this paper, we present simulation results of the employment of space division muitiple access (SDMA) technology as a mean of increasing the capacity on a cellular system. Three algorithms are used as a criterion to determine the possibility of duplicate channel allocation within a cell at the same time. From the obtained results, we observed that the blocking probability can be reduced between one and two magnitude orders when a non-SDMA system is compared with one implemented with SDMA capability.
