Experimental study on vibration characteristics of constrained layer damping structure by chessboard interface and damping thickness

2018
Three kinds of chessboard interface constrained layer damping structure models with the boundary sizes of 100mm and 75mm and 50mm respectively are set up. The damping layer thickness of the model with the same boundary of the chessboard interface is 1 mm, 2 mm and 3 mm respectively. The vibration test and analysis of the model are carried out by single point hammering method of simply supported beam. The results show that the loss factor of the same chessboard interface increases by 1.1∼1.4 times with the increase of the thickness of the damping layer, and the vibration acceleration level decreases by 4.72 dB∼5.67 dB, and the boundary size of the chessboard interface decreases with the same thickness of the damping layer. When the damping layer thickness is 3mm, the influence on the interface size of different chessboard is the greatest, and the peak value of the loss factor is the most obvious 1/3 octave curve. The results show that the thickness structure of 3mm damping layer can exert the maximum damping efficiency.
