The article addresses the possibilities of optimization of parameters of flat LIM metallurgical purposes, which have significant features in the design and operation because of the presence of large non-magnetic gaps. Numerical mathematical modeling of electromagnetic field (EF) is carried out in the «plan LIM − working body (solid plate)» using a commercial software package ANSYS Multiphysics (License № 00144095 )
