Chemical raw material from acidic natural gases; A preliminary optimum study

2003
This paper presents the optimum design of a hydrocarbon enrichment process combined with pure carbon dioxide production is presented. Natural gas treatment is based on chemical absorption applying a new solvent, aqueous solution of aliphatic triamine. The flow scheme consists of plate absorber and distillation columns, flash drums and heat exchangers as an appropriate configuration. The task is studying the effect of relevant process parameters on the main sizes of equipments and energy consumption for preliminary design purposes, i.e. finding optimum parameter values at minimum annual production costs.
