Measurement and analysis on optimum population in Center District of Lanzhou

The research on optimum population appraisal of Center District of Lanzhou adopts scenarios analysis,measueing the city's appropriate scale and maximal population scale from the aspects of land space,water supply,greenland norms,GDP and ecological footprint.The calculation outcome reflects that to the population scale of city ecological environment and proper land space's restriction are sharper than else factors'.According to the integrated analysis,the authors draw the conclusion that under present conditions optimal population capacity is 2.1782 million and maximal population capacity is 3.9386 million in Center District of Lanzhou.Population of Center District of Lanzhou has nearly reached the optimal population carrying capacity in 2005.
