A segmented polyurethane containing a terminal α-methyl styrene unit has been synthesized using α,α-dimethyl-isopropenyl benzyl isocyanate, together with poly(tetramethylene ether glycol), butane-1,4-glycol and 4,4'-diphenyl diisocyanate. The unsaturated polyurethane was subsequently used to form graft copolymers, poly(methyl methacrylate-g-urethane) by radical copolymerization
