This electrolyzed water generator is characterized by comprising an electrolyte solution supply unit, and an electrolysis unit having an electrolysis electrode pair, wherein: the electrolyte solution supply unit is provided so as to supply the electrolysis unit with an aqueous solution of an electrolyzed-water-generating electrolyte; the electrolysis unit is provided so as to generate electrolyzed water by electrolyzing the aqueous solution of the electrolyzed-water-generating electrolyte by the electrolysis electrode pair; and the electrolyzed-water-generating electrolyte contains an alkali metal chloride and a substance acidifying the aqueous solution, and generates electrolyzed water having a pH of greater than 6.5 and less than 8.0.
