Angiosarcoma of Mandible: A Diagnostic Challenge
2010
Angiosarcoma is a rare malignancy that is characterized by endothelial cell differentiation. It can affect any part of the body with the incidence of only 4% in the head and neck region. In this region, most of these lesions arise in the scalps of elderly individuals. Less commonly, angiosarcomas can be found within bone. The diagnosis of this kind of tumor is difficult, both to the rarity of this lesion at this site, and to the various histopathological aspects. The purpose of this report is to describe an example of angiosarcoma presenting as an extraoral swelling at the angle of mandible.
