La conservazione di Lampetra zanandreai Vladykov, 1955 nelle province di Treviso e Belluno, principi di gestione e ricadute sulle attivita’ umane

Petromyzontidae Lampetra zanandreai is an endemic species of the Padan Plain, that lives mainly in the alpine mountainside of Po basin, in Veneto and in Friuli-Venezia Giulia regions. L. zanandreai lives in the middle stretch and in resourgence rivers, with clear and fresh waters. During the larval phase iuvenes live in low stretches or in shore zones with slow flowing. The species is considered endangered according to the red list of italian fresh waters native fishes and critically endangered in the red list of native fishes of Veneto. L. zanandreai is also in the list of the Habitats Directive 92/43/CEE enclosures II and V. The provincial Fish Papers of Treviso and Belluno and various other projects have been used for collect data and evaluate the distribution of L. zanandreai in that territories. In the Piave basin, data show a discontinuous distribution on the principal river and in some tributaries. In the Livenza basin L. zanandreai is present in some direct tributaries and in the Monticano sub-basin. Finally in the Sile basin the presence of the species is discontinuous in the principal river and in some middle tributaries. In the last years L. zanandreai seems to grow in the territory of study. The geographical location of the recent data allows the realization of a distributive map supporting future activities of management and planning. The identification of breeding areas of L. zanandreai determines particular actions of protection, also according to the measures of maintenance of Habitats Directive.
