Synthesis and characterization of some transition metal complexes of trimeric and tetrameric aminocyc1ophosphazenes

Reactions of aminocyclotri-and aminocyclotetra-phosphazenes, viz., Nl]L6 and N4P4LM (L = -HN(sec C4H), -NHC.H II' HNCMHI7, -NC5HIO and -NC4HP) with hydrated Cu(I1), Co(ll), Ni(II) and Fe(III) chlorides have been studied. CuCI2.2Hp give only [(Nl,L6H or N4P4LMH)CuCl]] whereas with CoCI2.6H10 ,a mixture of two products, namely, [(N,P]L.H or N4P4LMH)CoCI,J and [(Nl,L6H or N4P4LMH)]2[CoCI4] are recovered. FeCl,.6Hp and NiCl1.6Hp give only ionic products of the type [(N,P,L.H)][FeCI4 ] and [(Nl]L6H)] l[NiCIJ A few reactions of Nl,L. (L= -HN(sec-C4H), -HNC6Hn and -HNCMH17) with Mo(CO). have also been carried out. In these reactions [(Nl]L.)Mo(CO),1 derivatives are obtained. The complexes have been characterized by analytical data, conductivity, magnetic and IR measurements.
