Biofilm formation kinetics in maricultrue wastewater treated by cinder and zeolite media

The regularity of kinetics parameters was determined and biofilm surface was observed through microscopes during biofilm formation in nitrification filters by cinder and zeolite media.It was found that during biofilm formation the ammonia degradation followed the first-order dynamics which became more obvious as the time went on.This tendency was kept until the biofilm functional stabilization.The first-order dynamics degradation rate was 0.744 d-1 for cinder and 0.679 d-1 for zeolite.
