Scientists, engineers and other technologists invented and developed the nuclear bomb. Despite the horrendous consequences of its use at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, these groups have continued to develop the technology so that in the event of a major nuclear conflict, the effects might destroy life as we know it on this planet.
