Therapeutic agent for disease of digestive system

PURPOSE: To obtain a lowly toxic therapeutic agent having inhibitory effects on immersion restraint stress ulcer, hydrochloric acid-ethanol ulcer, etc., by using an indole alkaloid as the active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: This agent contains an indole alkaloid represented by formula I (wherein one of R 1 and R 2 is ethyl, and the other is H), namely 20- epierbatamine of formula II or erbatamine of formula III as the active ingredient. This is used in a daily dosage of usually 10-100 mg for an adult and is orally administered in 2-3 divided portions. COPYRIGHT: (C)1989,JPO
