Frequency Shift Method for DC System Fault Detection

The incidence of grounding faults of substation DC system ranks first in all electrical faults,constituting a serious and potential danger for the safe operations of power system. This paper presents a new DC system fault detection technique based on frequency shift method. The principles,working methods,applications and advantages of the method are also elaborated.
