Research on influenza surveillance systems in China and abroad.

Objective To Learn about the experiences of foreign countries on influenza surveillance system and improve the influenza surveillance system in China for playing more important role in the prevention and control of influenza and other infectious diseases.Methods The influenza surveillance systems in USA,European Union and China were selected as samples and research was conducted on their weekly epidemiological report of influenza to learn about the basic information and main characteristics of the influenza surveillance systems.Results The influenza surveillance systems in USA,European Union and China had their own emphasis on surveillance fields of influenza,which reflected the differences on guiding principle,design concept and system content.Conclusion Surveillance is the basis of influenza prevention and control,it is necessary to conduct academic exchanges among countries to share experiences for the purpose of improving influenza surveillance and reducing the threaten of influenza to social economy and people's health.
