40-Gb/s tunable dispersion compensation with polymer waveguide involving chirped gratings

Chirped waveguide Bragg gratings are fabricated by tapering the width of the core involving uniform grating. A residual dispersion (+170 ps/nm) in a 40-Gb/s transmission system is compensated by adjusting temperature gradients in the waveguide.
