Lobishome. Las metamorfosis en lobo en las tradiciones europea y gallega

The metamorphosis of a human being into wolf appears in european textual tradition, as well as in the so called “popular cultures”. This work covers the different explanations for such transformation. We try to uncover the common structure that underlies both the folk tales and the treatment of the phenomenon in high culture. Galician werewolf is used as touchstone to assess the contribution of these explanations to the understanding of the phenomenon in a particular area.
