Vibration study of the intermittent control for a switched reluctance machine

2019
Abstract The aim of the intermittent control (INC) is to increase the global efficiency of Switched Reluctance Machine (SRM) and its power converter in automotive applications. However, the SRM is characterized by vibro-acoustic noise which needs to be studied. This paper analyzes the vibratory impact of the INC on the SRM and proposes a sliding strategy of this control to reduce such impact. This can be done rapidly in simulation by analyzing the radial forces, the deflections and the accelerations applied on the stator using a simplified electromagnetic–mechanical vibratory model of the SRM. The simulation results are then validated by experimental measures.
