Alteraciones neuropsicológicas en las a-sinucleinopatías

Parkinsons disease, Lewy Bodies Dementia and Mulisystem Atrophy are three neuro- degenerative diseases due to α-synuclein deposition. There is a clinical overlap bet- ween these disorders further than motor features. In this review we focus on studies assessing cognitive dysfunction in these diseases. Attentional and visuoperceptive impairment, as well as executive dysfunction and memory loss are usually present, but the extent and characteristics differ between them. The first neuropathological studies allow us to understand some relation between the neuropathologic changes and cognitive dysfunction but more neuropathologic and functional imaging studies are needed to fully understand the neuropathologic basis of cognitive dysfunction in α-synucleinpathies.
