In the structure of the title phosphate, 4C 3 H 8 N + .P 4 O 12 4- .4H 2 O, the (P 4 O 12 ) 4- cyclic anions are linked through OH...O-P hydrogen bonds to build layers parallel to the ab plane. These layers are themselves interconnected by means of N-H...O hydrogen bonds originating from the (C 3 H 5 NH 3 ) + cations.
