Structure de la Preatroxigenine, Triterpenoïde Nouveau Isolé de Atroxima Afzeliana Oliv. (Ex Chod) Stapf

2010
A combination of oxidative and hydrolytic cleavage of atroximin, saponin isolated from the roots bark of Atroxima afzeliana, yields preatroxigenin (the postulated precursor of atroxigenin, atroxigenic acid and atroxigenic acid lactone(1)), p-methoxycinnamic acid and 3,4-dimethoxy cinnamic acid. The structures of these compounds are deduced from their physical, chemical and spectroscopic data. The sugars of the glucidic moiety of atroximin are identified from the perchloric acid hydrolysate.
