Transport properties accompanied by collapse of antiferromagnetism of Eu(Pt1-xNix)2Si2

2008
Abstract We have measured temperature dependence of electrical resistivity ρ of Eu ( Pt 1 - x Ni x ) 2 Si 2 ( 0 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.25 ) to investigate the behavior associated with collapse of antiferromagnetism which was previously found in the magnetic susceptibility. For x ⩽ 0.15 , the antiferromagnetism survives but is gradually collapsed with increasing x . For x = 0.20 and 0.25, the ρ ( T ) curve exhibits T 2 dependence corresponding to Fermi-liquid behavior. The T 2 coefficient of the resistive A and Sommerfeld coefficient γ fulfill new grand Kadowaki-Woods relation, which implies that the samples of x = 0.20 and 0.25 are a member of heavy fermion systems.
