The invention relates to an intelligent safety helmet for controlling a distance between a human and electric equipment and a control method for the intelligent safety helmet. The intelligent safety helmet is structurally characterized in that an electric field intensity detection antenna is arranged outside the safety helmet and connected with an electric field intensity processor; the output ends of the electric field intensity processor and a micro processor are connected in parallel to the input end of a safety distance comparator; the output end of the safety distance comparator is connected with the interruption signal input end of the micro processor; and the input/output port of the micro processor is connected with a key and the input end of a voice alarm. The intelligent safety helmet can set different alarm safety distances according to different voltage levels of a power system so as to ensure that a worker is always at a safety position, and is suitable for a transformer substation or a power transmission line with different voltage levels; extra settings are not required to be carried; and moreover, the intelligent safety helmet runs with low power consumption, and has the advantages of high insulation, safety and reliability in operation and high accuracy.
