The invention relates to a fiber laying head for laying a fiber-based material for the manufacture of a composite part reinforced with fibers. A cutting device used to cut the material based on fibers transversely to the conveying direction. The cutting depth is determined in the process by using distance sensors, and appropriately regulated to a desired depth of cut.
