A multigrid-DDM schur elliptic equation solver in unstructured meshes

2006
This work shows the parallel Multigrid-MDD Schur method for the solution of elliptic equations. In the proposed method the solution is obtained by a multigrid method parallelized by domain decomposition techniques, more specifically by the Schur complement method. It is also shown some issues related to the generation and partitioning of the mesh hierarchy. In the case study, we used the 2D heat diffusion equation in unstructured meshes. The implementations was developed to explore parallelism in clusters, using message passing.
