The article is devoted to the content, the history, and the circumstances of creation of the centuria septima of the collection of plaster casts from engraved gems — Impronte Gemmarie, published by the German Archaeological Institute in Rome in 1868. This part of the seven-volume collection of casts, which mainly contains casts of Etruscan scarabs, for the first time since 1829, the year when the series started being published, prints of gems and fingerings found during archaeological excavations in southern Russia in the first third — mid-19th century included. These artifacts, subsequently deposited at the Imperial Hermitage, have played an important role in the study of the evolution of the art of glyptics in the Northern Black Sea region, while their publication by the German Institute made it possible to introduce them to wide scholarly circulation.
