A method for altering the internal stress state of a career of a raceway member of a bearing assembly, comprising the following method steps: - providing a raceway member having a raceway, - hardening of the raceway by at least partial heating of the raceway member, - rolling the track with a first rolling body and - rolling the track with a second roller, said second roller having a different dimension compared to the first roller at least being changed by the hard rolls having different rolling elements of the residual stress state.
