Is There a Place for Indian B-schools in the Global Village? A Review

Globalization has transformed the nature of social relations and transactions by breaking geographical and other boundaries. Liberalization and technology have eased the movement of people, ideas, capital and goods. The 900 or so B-Schools in India select their students mostly through a competitive examination followed by group discussions and interviews. What are the priorities of a B-Schools student? Does the curriculum in Indian B-schools enable the student to think globally? What competencies does an Indian B-Schools student lack of? The suthor views the issue from students perspective. He points out that lack of adaptability and competitiveness and inability to work in a group make it difficult for Indian B-School students to find their place in the global village. The author suggests some important ways to address these concerns.
