Integrated requirements for a space station

As the f i r s t s tep i n NASA's planning f o r a pot en t i a l space s t a t ion system, a major e f f o r t was undertaken to define r e a l i s t i c missions tha t would be enabled by o r have materially benefitted from the permanent presence of man in space. Studies were conducted by NASA advisory boards, in-house panels, and industry under contract t o NASA. Additional studies were undertaken by the international community.
