A process for the decoating of a gas turbine component

2005
A process for the decoating of a gas turbine component by complete or partial removal of a multilayer wear-resistant coating from the surface of the gas turbine component whose wear-resistant coating comprising at least one hard ceramic layer and at least a soft metallic sheet comprising the steps of: alternately a) removal of the hard ceramic layer of the wear-resistant coating in a first, excluding the removal of the hard layer serving bath which has a pH value between 3 and 5 and made from a 5% to 50% aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution containing 10 g / l to 100 g / l of sodium salts of organic acids and / or with a in the hydrogen peroxide solution containing 1 g / l to 10 g / l nitrogen-containing organic compound; b) removing the soft metallic layer of the wear-resistant coating in a second, excluding the removal of the soft sheet serving bath which has a pH value of greater than 12 and is at least made of a 2% strength to 50% strength alkali metal hydroxide solution with 1 g / l to 200 g / l of silicon or silicon compounds.
