Objective: To study the evolution of the psicopathologic symptoms and the distress of the patients that initiate and develop a treatment by abuse or drug dependency. Instruments: The SCL-90-R questionnaire is ad- ministered and the clinical records of the patients is studied to watch out complementary variables. Procedure: Double cross-sectional and longitudi- nal design. Cross-sectional study on a sample of 612 patients in diverse phases of treatment. Longi- tudinal study on two samples: a group of 111 pa- tients that start ambulatory chemical detoxifica- tion of opiate (of which 53 finishes successfully) and a group of 77 patients that successfully start and finish a treatment in Professional Therapeutic Community.
