Deblocking of Dithianes with Diacetoxyiodobenzene

Abstract A facile method for deblocking of dithianes is described. Diacetoxyiodobenzene was used as a cheaper variant of bis(trifluoroacetoxy)iodobenzene for the regeneration of carbonyl compounds from dithianes.
