Efecto del nivel de proteína sobre el crecimiento del yaque Leiarius marmoratus (Gill, 1870) bajo condiciones de cultivo

The yaque Leiarius marmoratus has been considered a species of easy adaptation to the dry food consumption and therefore with potential for aquaculture; however, their behavior under fish farming conditions has not been sufficiently evaluated. Therefore, the aim of this work was to study the total weight gain (WG), daily gain (ADG), feed conversion (FC), specific growth rate (TCE), relative growth factor (FCR) and survival under farming conditions, feeding with three levels of crude protein in the diet (24%, 30% and 34%). For this purpose were selected juveniles of 3.5±2.9 g and 6.6±1.5 cm in length, grown in earthen ponds (400m2 approximately) at a density of 1 individual/m2. Was measured monthly during 150 days of culture, body weight (g) and total length (cm). Food was supplied three times a day at 7:00, 17:00 and 20:00 h. At the end of each treatment trial took three copies of a sample of dorsal muscle (c.a. 400 g), which were stored at -20 °C to determine crude protein (%), dry matter (%), ash (%) and ether extract (%). The length was greater (P<0.05) in those animals receiving 34% of crude protein (PC). Like wise, significant differences in final body weight (P<0.05) and the total length, the effect of the level of PB offered. The CA was higher for T3 (1.92), showing only significant difference in T1 (P <0.05). Based on these results we conclude that the level of PB in the diet has an effect on the productive performance of acacia, presenting the highest production rates when offered diets with 24% PB.
