Comparazione nutrizionale delle varietà Corno e Quadrato del peperone : Indagini preliminari

Some healthy properties (total content of polyphenols, flavonoids, carotenoids, vitamins A and C dosage, radical scavenger activity) were investigated in two different cultivars of sweet pepper "Como di Toro" (Capsicum annuum) - "Teseo" (red variety), and "Lampo" (yellow variety) - and compared to a more commercial variety "Quadrate red". The results showed that cultivars Teseo and Lampo appeared to exhibit, on the whole, better quality and nutritional qualities in comparison with sweet pepper Quadrato. The identification of cultivars with important levels of these biomolecules is really important both for human health and for the agricultural meaning.
