Multi-thread video watermarking: A biomedical application

2014
In modern era of information and communication, security and timeliness are two main features of effective communication and real life processing of data. Watermarking is a process that ensures the security, i.e. copyright protection, channel integrity detection, owner authentication and hiding information. On the other hand, processing a large number of data in parallel reduces the time complexity. In this work, DWT based watermarking technique is applied for watermark embedding and extraction. Using multiple threads, more than one image frames are watermarked and watermark is extracted at once. At first, watermarking process is performed without any thread. Then, the same process is carried out using 2, 4, or 6 threads. Computation time is measured in each case for further calculation of time gain in parallel processing with respect to serial processing.
