Advances of molecular biotechnologies in human papillomavirus detection

Cervical cancer is closely connected with human papillomavirus (HPV) infection.Early detection,especially genotype testing of HPV,is important for early warning,prevention and therapy of cervical cancer.With rapid development of molecular biotechnologies,several assays in HPV detection are widely used.In this paper,the application and progress of nucleic acid hybridization,PCR and gene chip technology are reviewed.
