Role of radiotherapy and chemotherapy in the treatment of colorectal cancer

: Surgery is the only curative therapy for cancer of the colon and rectum. On some occasions, however, radiotherapy and chemotherapy play an important role. In this paper these two methods of treatment, alone or in combination with surgery, are extensively reviewed and the advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.
