Study Objective This video describes the presentation of a patient with chronic pelvic pain following placement of transobturator tape sling, illustrates the mesh removal surgery and techniques, and discusses the mechanisms by which insertion of mesh may cause acute and chronic pain. Conclusion Mesh placement may lead to significant chronic pelvic pain through a variety of mechanisms which work independently and jointly, often requiring a multifaceted approach to treatment.
