Investigations of Dispersion Characteristics of Surface Waves on Impedance Unit

In practical engineering, impedance surface design can be carried out by selecting impedance units with corresponding characteristics according to the function and the performance requirements of microwave RF modules. Therefore, firstly, the paper analyzes the structure and the electromagnetic modulation principle of the metasurface, designing three different types of impedance units, and extract the dispersive curves corresponding to different parameters of impedance units. Secondly, to analyze the influence of dispersion characteristics on surface waves propagation, and extract the impedance curves of three kinds of impedance units based on them. The three impedance units are designed to have different application scenarios, which has direct guiding value for the application of impedance units, and has good application prospects in the fields of planar lens and impedance surface holographic antenna design as well as microwave imaging systems.
