In the current financial environment, discussion has been continuing about whether or not there is enough practical financial education in the economics textbook of the high school. In particular, it is necessary to review whether the high school student can learn the contents of financial products enough to live a financial life after graduation. In this study, the contents of financial products in the United States' economic textbook were analyzed to draw implications for how the scope and depth of financial products in high school economics textbook in Korea should be improved. As a result, the range of financial products in the United States' economics textbook covers the areas of deposits, investment products (stocks, bonds, and funds), and insurance, particularly investments and insurance. In addition, they provide various knowledge and training methods about these financial products. The introduction of financial products is composed to motivate learning, and even relatively difficult contents such as stocks, bonds, and derivatives can be understood easily through examples, stories, pictures, and etc. Moreover, various methods are suggested to apply what they learn from the economics textbook. Based on these results, a complementary point for the scope and depth of financial products in Korean economics textbook was presented.
