One embodiment of this control method controls an electronic apparatus, and includes: a step for performing a notification regarding an event that has occurred; a step for detecting an operation in response to the notification; a step for outputting information pertaining to the event by means of a first method in the case that the response operation is a single-touch gesture; and a step for outputting information pertaining to the event by means of a second method when the response operation is a multi-touch gesture. In one embodiment of this control method, for example when a single-touch gesture is detected, a smartphone (1) starts a conversation using a receiver (7). In one embodiment of this control method, for example when a multi-touch gesture is detected, the smartphone (1) starts a conversation using a speaker (11).
