BACK ANALYSIS METHODS FOR TUNNEL LININGS

This paper proposes a three dimensional back analysis method called LSEM (Lining Stress Estimation Method) for tunnel linings. It estimates stress, strains and earth pressures on the linings, using only convergence data and ignoring the initial stresses and mechanical characteristics of the ground. (TRRL)
