Abstract : This volume contains five background papers on the general subject of opportunities for extension of Soviet influence in the Third World. These papers were used, along with other souces, in the preparation of the summary report, AD-A025 303. Topics include: Latin America; The Soviet Union and Latin American Leftwing Military Regimes; Communist Parties, Indigenous Insurgent Groups and International Labor Groups in Sub-Saharan Africa; and Nigeria.
